How Do I Market My Own Book on Social Media?

Based on my own research, I have found that it is best to pick one or two platforms of social media to focus on. If you have five different ones that you are having to post on constantly you are going to find yourself overwhelmed. From there, post content about your experience, uncommon facts that you have come across, updates about your work, etc. Soon you will find your own audience!

I Want to Write My First Book. What Should I Do?

Well to start, congratulations! Writing a book is a long and tedious endeavor that can feel at times like you won’t ever finish, but when you do. . . it’s the best feeling in the world. It’s a level of personal accomplishment that I wish everyone could experience. When starting a book, a lot of people, myself included, just jump right in, and only some of them are able to make it to the end of their concept. But! If you beginning with just a pen and paper, and you write down an outline of the entire book you want to write while following one of the many plot structures. You will soon find that you have everything you need for the book. From there, you can write your rough draft!

What’s the Difference Between Self-Publishing and Trad Publishing?

Self-publishing is as the name states, an author chooses to publish their book themselves. Whereas with traditional publishing an author will have queried to an agent who will send out that authors book to big publishing companies. There are many pro’s and con’s to each route.

With self-publishing, the author is responsible for all expenses, which can be daunting. However they may also find that they have more control and say over their book with things like editing, the cover, and better chances to publish a series.

With traditional publishing, the process may be more demanding with more competition, but it can also be a lot more rewarding when it comes to marketing (although in some case you still have to do some marketing), and the initial book deal. Both options have their value, and it is something that is just an authors choice. I for one, plan on doing both, which is called a “hybrid” author.
